I have endeavoured in this Ghostly little book, to raise the Ghost of an Idea, which shall not put my readers out of humour with themselves, with each other, with the season, or with me. May it haunt their houses pleasantly, and no one wish to lay it.

Parapsychology, as has been stated before, is the scientific study of the paranormal (namely ESP, PK and Survival). Even though I am a Parapsychologist, I have a passionate interest in a fringe area of this controversial science, what I like to call Christian Parapsychology.
Parapsychology is the scientific study of the paranormal. It is NOT alien abduction, cryptozoology (e.g. Loch Ness), mythical creatures (e.g. werewolves) or UFOs. Today, however, I shall be offending parapsychologists the world over, stepping “outside of the box” and delving into a subject that has fascinated those living on the fringe – the dark, seductive world of the vampire!
Although not measured by financial reward, many people claim that Geraldine Cummins was Ireland’s most successful medium. She specialised in automatic writing and, to me at least, her work is endlessly impressive because, throughout her whole career, she remained healthily sceptical of her own abilities and the information she received.
