Silent Voices Meets Lisa Williams

Lisa Williams is an internationally acclaimed medium and clairvoyant with an amazing ability to communicate with loved ones and friends who have passed on to the Other Side.

Born in Birmingham England, Lisa was discovered by the American television host and media mogul Merv Griffin and introduced to audiences through two seasons of her own hit show, Lisa Williams: Life Among the Dead, and her second series, Voices from the Other Side. Both series have aired around the world.

Lisa is the author of several popular books; and has appeared on Oprah, Good Morning America, Larry King Live, and Jimmy Kimmel Live!

In March 2012 Lisa will be embarking on her third live tour of the UK performing in front of large live audiences, She hosts her own weekly radio show, and blogs daily about her life and spiritual teachings on her website, where she interacts with the public as well as her site members.

Lisa is also a trained Reiki and crystal healer. She lives in Southern California with her son, Charlie, and their two dogs, Lucy and Max.

Its been nearly 8 years since you moved from the UK to America, will you ever come back and live in the UK ?

I was born in England and so the UK is my home, and always will be. Never say never, but I don’t have any plans to move back at the moment.

Your America TV Shows, ‘Life Among the Dead’ and “Voices from the Other Side’ were very popular, have you any more plans for more TV shows?

Yes! We are putting together plans for a new television show at the moment but I can’t say anything else while it’s being finalized.

You have travelled to many places world wide with your work, what place in the world have you enjoyed the most that left a lasting impression on you ?

As my home, the UK has and will continue to have a lasting impression on me, obviously. However, two places I really love are Norway and Australia. The people in both countries are amazing, so warm and loving and giving. There are no egos, they’re just wonderful.

You already have 5 books on the market, have you any plans this year to release any more books?

I don’t have plans to release a book in 2011 but I am going to start writing in December for a new book which will be released in 2012. It is the follow–up to ‘Survival of the Soul’ and will look at our life paths, our life contracts and discovering who we are.

Have you always been aware and accepting of your gift and how old were you when you realised what was happening to you?

I was four years old when I first experienced my gift but it was a while before it was accepted. Having a father who was a sceptic made it difficult too, and it wasn’t until I was in my 20s that I worked with it and fully embraced my abilities.

Your 2012 UK tour is in London, Cardiff, Birmingham & Glasgow… Will you be appearing anywhere else and have you any other plans while your in the UK?

I don’t have any fixed plans but I have a lot of friends and family in the UK so anything could happen!

Can you tell us what to expect at one of your tour venues?

You can expect a lot of fun at my shows and events. I always connect with the spirit and so the shows give a lot of help and guidance with messages from the other side. They are all about having a positive experience.

Where can our readers buy tickets for your tour?

Details are on my website, on the tour dates page, at www.lisawilliams.com

It must be emotional to bring People into contact with their relatives. do you get emotional yourself?

I often get asked this, but no I don’t. It can be a very moving experience but my job is to channel a message from someone on the other side. It’s important I keep focused and don’t let my emotions cloud that message.

If you could communicate with anyone, who would it be and why?

It would have to be John Lennon because he managed to change people’s opinions in such a big way and he still continues to have a massive impact for the good, even after his passing.

Do you believe that sending out positive thoughts, can help to aid negativity and also heal ?

Absolutely. That’s one of the reasons why Holly and I created the Bliss Group. Healing is needed around the world and through positive thinking we can all do so much.

What has been your best and worst ‘wow’ or ‘knowing’ moment ?

There are so many! It never ceases to amaze me when I get specific information that I shouldn’t really know, like a telephone number or an unusual name. It happens at most shows but I’m still surprised by it.

Do you ever get time for rest and relaxation and what do you do when you relaxing from work?

I MAKE time for my rest and relaxation! I love to spend time with my family, and playing the piano and singing are my great passions.

What’s has been the most memorable experience in your work?

There isn’t really one single experience that stands out because helping people connect and heal is a continuing positive experience for me.

Although you are very busy you also take the time to interact via facebook and at events with you fans, is this important to you as you genuinely seem to enjoy doing so?

Yes it is, I love the interaction with my fans and I never take their support and love for granted. Getting messages, letters and emails or meeting people at shows is so important to me.

In your view what would you say are the positives and negatives of the increased media exposure to spiritualism in general ... and do you think the media portray the correct message and knowledge?

It depends on what you read and who has written it. The media has certainly brought spirituality into the forefront, when it had been behind closed doors for so long. This has been a positive effect but of course with that you get the negative too. Overall it has definitely helped others to finally believe in themselves and their gift.

Spiritualism in its broadest context has gained much publicity and far more acceptance over the last decade. A lot of this has been through an increase in media programmes, publications and talented people like yourself. Where do you see the overall acceptance of mediumship and spiritualism as a true religion in five years time?

That’s a big question. I believe they’re only going to grow. Spiritualism as a religion will grow and help more people and it will have a positive effect on the way we live our lives. It’s definitely becoming more accepted and while we can’t change everyone’s mind at once, we’re definitely moving towards a time when it will be more and more accepted in everyday life.

What spurs you on today to continue in your work and do you have any goals over the coming years, i.e. do you have any ambitions to go further with your abilities?

I’ve always got goals! You never know everything and self development and growth are so important. My own goals are to teach others about spirituality and how it can change your life.

What advice would you give to a fledgling medium?

Practice, practice, practice. Don’t be afraid of getting something wrong and make time for yourself – you can only give so much.

Could you sum up your philosophy in two or three sentences?

My work with Holly sums it up – we can all change and achieve.

Work and personally, what would you like for the future?

Personally, I hope for health and happiness for all my friends and family. As for my work, I want to continue to do what I’m doing. I love it and can’t imagine doing anything else.

We would like to thank Lisa for a very interesting interview, we at Silent voices wish you good luck and best wishes for the future
