I’m not in this world to live up to your expectations and you’re not in this world to live up to mine.” Bruce Lee
It has been said that childbirth is the miracle of life and we were all born into this world with unique talents, gifts, and skills.
Growing up as children, it was in our nature to seek truth and learning.
We were interested in learning about ourselves, others, and the world around us.
It is through growing up and listening to our parents or the primary adults in our lives that we create our own beliefs and values.
We now live in a time when understandings and beliefs are completely different and the importance of the misperception when there’s no immediate threat to our understanding of the world, we change our beliefs.
It’s when that change or the opinion of others contradicts something we’ve long held as important that problems occur.
Beliefs are the major cause of unhappiness, upsets, and limitations.
Beliefs are the assumptions we make about ourselves, about others in the world and about how we expect things to be.
Beliefs are about how we think things really are, what we think is really true and what therefore expect as likely consequences that will follow from our behavior.
Your beliefs will determine the success you have in life and negative beliefs operate like a badly programmed operating system, messing up everything else, and preventing you from doing what you came here to do.
Nothing happens until you take full responsibility for the life that you have created in this very moment and the expectations you have of yourself
Values are about how we have learnt to think things ought to be or people ought to behave, especially in terms of qualities such as honesty, integrity and openness.
The clearer you are about what you value and believe in, the happier and more effective you will be.
When you are you, and that includes the weird things about you, you will find that the most amazing and interesting people start popping up in your life.
Sometimes this may take years, and sometimes it can happen in just a few days so just let whatever happens be okay and go with the flow.
When you try to be someone you’re not, you will only attract people into your life that are not in harmony with you and if you have been believing the beliefs of someone else, then you have been living their version of reality and that’s not the only version there is.
You don’t have to go on believing what you were taught or heard.
You get to choose and you still choose by not choosing, you choose the default.
Don’t let other people dictate how you live your life.
Determine what you want, go after it, and don’t look back.
You will be much happier for it.
It is not up to you either to make people happy as you can only make yourself happy, and the way others react is just the way they will react.
It is human nature to want to be liked and accepted, however, this often leads to people worrying too much about what others are thinking about them.
People are entitled to think whatever they want, just as you are entitled to think what you want.
What people think of you cannot change who you are or what you are worth, unless you allow them to.
This is your life to live and at the end of the day you are the only person who needs to approve of your own choices.
If somebody does think badly of you at the moment, there is a good chance they will think differently in the near future.
So basically, people’s thoughts don’t really matter.
Do not let it prevent you from living your life to the fullest potential.
You only have one life to live, so why would you spend it worrying about other people’s opinions?
Do whatever you want, be whoever you want to be.
Fortunately, our minds and hearts are malleable, and we can learn to love and accept ourselves.
If we had a penny for every time we felt inferior, stupid, unattractive, or unworthy, most of us would be millionaires.
You are a powerful force in the universe.
Believe in your greatness, and be proud of who you are!
